What Root Camp is really like
"Before i came to root camp i only thought i would be gaining culinary skills. But i had such an incredible experience and although i was nervous, everyone was so welcoming and it wasn't hard to make friends ! The day trips were really interesting and the people we met were really inspirational. I particularly enjoyed the wood carving as it was something completely different and that i had never done before. Cooking with valentine warner was such a fun experience and i got to cook roast pork belly one evening which i was really proud of ! The setting in wales was beautiful and there was such a friendly atmosphere as everyone mucked in with the cooking and clearing up. i would really recommend root camp to anyone who not only wants to improve their cooking skills, but also wants to have a real experience, meet new people and come away from it feeling truly inspired."

A day to never forget
The hassle and the stress
The July that left Miriam
Simply in distress
Missed the train and had to make my own way Cassia, on the phone
Tryna direct me
There safe.
Once, I arrived, the guilt that arose Made me feel a tingling sensation That made me want to go.
But following that day, things just never stayed the same.
The main objective was to cook a chef’s dish I looked bewildered
AS if! I know how to cook
Fish.
One activity that I’ll never forget!
Was the baking,
Which taught me the logic, behind the making.
Foraging
Was interesting, with a lady called Jade
She told us to pick, to try and to mix...The ingredients Our plants and the finishing product pestooo!

Root Camp was an experience that will stay with me for LIFE
Cooking is something that I now take pride.
