Travelling to Dartington
The Dartington Hall Trust is a 1,200-acre estate in South Devon, just outside Totnes. As well as beautiful landscape and historic buildings, the estate is home to hundreds of growing projects - from natural apiaries to a goat and Jersey cow dairy farm.
We will be staying in individual rooms, in Yellow House at Foxhole, the former Dartington Hall School site built in the 1930's.
We will be cooking in a large professional catering kitchen with-a-view, and lots of natural light.
Travelling to Dartington:
We specify a Paddington-Totnes train for the morning of departure date. We provide an escort for that train and provide a pick up from Totnes station. Those coming from outside of London can join the train at any point or, if their arrival time coincides, they can meet us at Totnes station (we will wait 20 mins max). Alternatively, you can drive directly and join us at the venue around noon.
We will also designate a return train and will arrange transit from Dartington -Totnes.
The train times are published three months in advance. We will be in touch end of March with an outline of the programme.

From Field to Fork
Residential Courses are approved by the Duke of Edinburgh award scheme and are ideal for those taking their Gold badge.
Residential Courses: These run over five nights and six days, and participants are split into two groups or eight. Time is split between cooking in the kitchen with one of our Root Camp chefs and working alongside local growers and producers. In the evening we invite supper guests who talk to us about their work. The days are long, but fun and informative and extremely social.
Non-Residential Courses: These courses run over three full-on, but fun, 12-hour days. Time is split between cooking in the kitchen with one of our Root Camp chefs and working alongside urban growers and producers.
On Demand: Root Camp courses are also available on demand. We are currently running school trips.
