We will spend half our time cooking in our beautiful barn kitchen with one of our inspirational chefs. Recipes will be seasonal, economical and easy to replicate – and will include some more ambitious recipes to challenge and inspire! All Root Camp participants will go home with a set of kitchen skills to underpin their enthusiasm for cooking, as well as a booklet of all the recipes they have made.
The other half will be spent outside, working with some of our favourite local growers and producers. We are currently building on last year’s programme. Activities will include some of the following : foraging, working in the kitchen garden, making sausages, curing and smoking meat, carving, butchery, beekeeping and chocolate tasting. We will include a range of ‘supper talks’ from foodie-experts, and if last years courses are anything to go by, these are going to be great.

*Root Camp will provide a chaperone from Liverpool Street Station, London, to Ipswich Station, Suffolk. A bus will meet us at the train station and transfer the group to Cottage Farm. If you’d prefer, you can make your own way either to Ipswich Station, or Cottage Farm itself, in Little Blakenham.
